The Facial - Ilcsi Organics

What is it?
A tailored treatment using products sourced from fresh fruit pulp, vegetables and flowers in the unspoiled meadows of Hungary.

Who will like it?
Anyone who likes to be pampered, wants results and cares about what they are putting on their skins. What makes it special?
All ingredients are hand-whipped and mixed with pure water from a subterranean thermal lake where rare minerals have been trapped for thousands of years. The intense delivery of antioxidants is applied by skilled Eastern European beauticians who have undergone two years of training, including chemistry and pressure-point massage, so that the nourishing masks can penetrate deeply. The treatments help to tackle concerns including premature ageing, sun damaged, acne and loss of skin radiance.

Wine isn’t the only good thing to come from vines. Grapes also contain antioxidants used to prevent premature ageing. Lydia Mondavi, of the eponymous Californian wine dynasty, has developed the 29 Cosmetics line using grapeseeds from the winemaking process. ‘Grapeseed extract is the most powerful antioxidant to protect the skin from ageing,’ she explains. Skin Special
The UK press have been going mad for Ilcsi (pronounced il-chi). Why you may ask? Because it’s an amazing range of beauty products fresh from Hungary where they are in hot demand.

Produced by Mrs Ilcsi, now a grand dame of 81 (and still very active) she’s spent her life devoted to one pursuit – beautiful skin. In her native Hungary she learnt about the beauty and health benefits of the flowers and herbs growing in the fields surrounding her home from her grandmother and mother, both village herbalists. This is skincare the way it’s meant to be – natural and organic. Don’t miss their Phytoestrogen Lifting Serum – great for creating a youthful glow and Rosehip Serum for sensitive skin. Pretty pure. Could organic beauty products be just what you need in the run-up to your wedding day?

I’ve also recently discovered Ilcsi, which includes products for face, body and hair. One of my favourites is the Sour Cherry Gel Mask, which is so gentle you can use it the night before your big day without worrying it’ll bring you out in spots. The Stonecrop Whip Moisturiser works by evening out skin tone and preventing pigmentation to create a radiant bloom.

Ilcsi has also just launched a range of bespoke organic facials available nationwide to leave you with such a rosy glow that you’ll feel as though you could turn up at the church without a dash of make-up!

Ilcsi Rose and Paprika Facial
Hungarian organic beauty company Ilcsi has enlisted the expertise of therapist Brigitta Lark to create Paprika and Rose Facial, which forms part of its new bespoke range of Pick Me Up Treatments. Using the strongest Hungarian Paprika, well known in its homeland for stimulating blood and lymphatic circulation and promoting collagen production, the treatment has been formulated to act as a potent source of hydration for parched skin conditions. Key to the treatment is a unique AHA peel, teeming with fruit pulp, which resurfaces the skin by removing dead skin cells to help smooth out wrinkles.

Cherry baby - What’s the secret to a perfect complexion? Sour cherries, apparently. The pureed pulp of the fruit is the active ingredient in Ilcsi’s skin-refining Sour Cherry Gel Mask. The organic Hungarian brands star product has a high antioxidant and fruit acid content, which leaves your skin looking hydrated, youthful and glowing. The cherries are grown and hand-picked in Hungary to preserve this delicate fruit, which contains pectins, flavonoids and fruit sugars. The mask can also be used around the eyes to help reduce puffiness.

Top 10 Winter skin rescues - Your skin may take a battering from the elements over the next few months, but we can also thank nature (and Ilcsi) for providing us with a solution. Hungarian beauty brand, Ilcsi, has introduced its latest facemask just in time. The Sour Cherry Gel Mask is hydrating and charged with vitamins. The fabulous, natural ingredients include organic sour cherry; its fructose and fruit acid will nourish, vitalise, tone, and moisturise the skin. If applied around the eye area it will also help to reduce puffiness. £25

Rinse the mask away with warm water, dry your face gently, and finish with the Sour Cherry Whip Moisturiser, which will leave the skin, toned, firm, and hydrated. It will also fight oxidative stress of the skin due to environmental factors and lifestyle – which are prevalent during the wintry days. £32

Perfect for Sensitive Skin - When it comes to skincare, I'm a bit of a slacker, but since my Ilcsi facial I have become a devotee of this Hungarian range. Ilcsi products use organic ingredients like fruit, flowers and herbs to treat skincare problems naturally. I complained of dry skin and redness and my beauty specialist, Brigitta, put this down to a lack of exfoliating and mild rosacea. She removed my make-up with a nourishing Lemon Cleanser and applied a gentle Rose Hip and Maize Exfoliating Mask, which delivers Vitamin C to the skin while sloughing away dead skin. A session under the steam machine followed, then came a cool Rose Hip Gel Mask, ideal for sensitive skin like mine, and lastly some soothing Rose Hip Serum. I have been faithfully using my Ilcsi Rose Hip Whip Moisturiser every day and my skin is unbelievably soft as a result.

Ilcsi is available online at: www.ilcsi.co.uk. I had my Ilsci facial with Brigitta Lark, Lower Ground Floor, 73 Duke Street, Mayfair, London W1K 5BY. Tel: 07855 940946

Feelin' Fruity? OK, there's Cherie Lunghi, Cherie Blair and Neneh Cherry. But right now, our very favourite cherry is the Sour Cherry Face Mask, £25, from Hungarian brand, llcsi (no, we can't say it either!).

Packed full of natural and organic fruit enzymes, the mask smells wonderful, and it's perfect for dry skin that needs a moisture surge and some serious refining. So, kick back, relax and try not to lick it off your face... Stockists: Hari's Salon (Tel: 0207 581 5211) on Brompton Road.

We say: Ilcsi's organic products are certainly different - they have a distinctive "home-made" feel to them. Some of the products are textured as if you'd whipped them up in a blender: they contain pieces of fruit, or, to be quite frank about this, chunks of carrot. The scents are strong, and natural...if you like your skincare routine to be fun, organic and fruity, you will enjoy playing around with this range a lot. read more...
